As the mother of a campus policeman at a Pennsylvania university, my thoughts and prayers are with the Collier family. We all know the countless contributions our sons and daughters make on a daily basis. May you gather support from the many friends, family and entire country who will keep Sean in our thoughts.

On behalf of the entire Bradford NH Police Department I offer our heartfelt condolences. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family members and friends.

"The Final Inspection"

The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"

The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges
can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.

But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.

There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.

"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

My heart, condolences, and prayers go out to the family of this officer. As a mom of a police officer in a major city, I understand the bittersweet emotions of pride and fear for the men in blue that we love as they leave for work each day.

Thank you for your service to all of us Sean! Each of our men in blue make our country much safer and ordered.
May the angels lead you into paradise, may the martyrs welcome you and present your soul to God Most High. May you rest in peace.
Your parents and family will be in our constant prayers.

On behalf of MIT Arab Alumni/ae Association and its executive team, go our deepest condolences to the friends, colleagues and family of Sean Collier. It is a long time since I and some of my colleagues were undergraduate at MIT but I remember the great role played by MIT Police, looking after the sprawling campus and keeping order amidst the disorder. From all I have read about Sean Collier, it seems to me that he exemplified that high degree of service and that he had a commitment to doing his work very well. The world has lost a good officer, a good professional and above all a good soul.

In my years at MIT, I enjoyed friendships with MIT policemen. I found the force to be supportive of students, enhancing the student experience with friendly, professional service that was focused on keeping things safe without being heavy handed and established a sense of trust and camaraderie. It sounds like Officer Collier carried on that tradition in spades.

God bless you, Officer Collier, and your loved ones as they mourn their tragic loss.

RIP Officer Collier. I often work in a building close by quite late at night, and I'm grateful for the comfort and security that the police presence provides in this area. Prayers for the Officer, his family, and our entire community.

Your courage is an example to everyone; its still hard to believe something like this would happen in front of Stata - a building that sprung up into existence while we were students; we were the first ones to work there. Thank you for being the wonderful person that you were. May you rest in peace

When I landed on the Campus from abroad my first contact was with the MIT police. I found these people helpful, concerned, respectuous and with many other qualities, which I understand officer Collier also showed.
Thanks to all, and to officer Collier especially, you made the experience of the US nicer than otherwise.
Condoleances to the family.
