Thank you Officer Collier for your dedication, service and ultimate sacrifice for the safety of the MIT campus. Never once did I feel unsafe walking across campus, and I have fantastic campus police officers such as you to thank for that. My condolences go to Sean's family, friends, and colleagues. To the Collier Family, I am a stranger to you however my heart mourns for Sean. He has touched so many hearts and so many hearts touched him. It is a sad day for all. But among the sadness brings smiles to the fortunate ones who knew Sean with or without a badge. We can only say farewell to this wonderful selfless soul you will never be forgotten.

I AM SO, SO, SORRY.... THIS MAN THAT BARELY GOT A FOOT IN THE DOOR OF LIFE... SOMEDAY, I HOPE YOUR LITTLE ONES CAN FIND CONSONANCE BY THE NUMBERS OF PEOPLE THAT CAME TO GIVE THEIR RESPECT, SENT PRAYS AND RESPONDED IN MANY WAYS TO HIM & HIS FAMILY, WITH A HEART FELT SORROW, RESPECT, GRATITUDE AND EMPATHY FOR THE HORRENDOUS LOSS OF A FATHER, A HUSBAND, AND A CHILD OF GRIEVING PARENTS.

I didn't have the opportunity to meet Collier officer, but for the things that my daughter told me and by the way she described him, I think I knew him for a long time. There are no words to express my gratitude for the hospitality he had with my daughter when she hurt her foot, but that lets me see the big heart he had and the great loss that not only the MIT community has but also our nation. we have lost a great human being. My most sincere and heartfelt condolences to the Collier family.

Heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Police Office Sean Collier. Policing a college campus is a unique challenge. It requires, among other things, a dedication to protecting the university community, balanced by the role of educator, balanced by the role of cop. By all accounts, Officer Collier filled these many needs of the students, faculty, staff, and visitors. He will be missed.

To the entire policing and security community that Sean Collier was an exemplary part of, thank you for your service in keeping us as safe as you can each and every day. You run into danger as you keep us as far away from it as you can. Thank you. May the Universe keep you as safe as it can in return. And when you find danger and sorrow, I hope we can offer you and yours help, support, and eventual peace through a loving community and a united humanity.

I didn't know Sean personally, but he touched my life. I learned recently that my dad was his pediatrician. As an MIT employee, I feel safe every day because of the MIT police who watch over the campus. It's a small world.

May Sean rest in peace, and may his memories remain a part of you always. We will certainly never forget all that he gave to us at MIT and in Boston.

To the family, friends and co-workers of Officer Sean Collier,

I'm a volunteer /part time police officer in New Jersey and have followed the tragic circumstances that happened in Boston and to Officer Collier. I'm also a 9/11 survivor. I stumbled into law enforcement at a late age and after 18 years, I can truly say that it was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. Until I became a cop, I never realized that there is a bond of brotherhood that exists in law enforcement but there is and to Sean: I am humbled, honored, and privileged to call you my brother in blue. As I continue in law enforcement, I will try to be the type of cop you were and serve my community with the same dedication and passion and honor you served yours.. .
