Sean - Thank you for your heroic performance of your duty and for making the ultimate sacrifice to protect and serve MIT's community. My son is a junior there now, and not that much younger than you were. We will be at your memorial service tomorrow. I now and then would run into Sean (I work strange hours as well as normal hours) and remember how nice he was to chat with about just everything from weather to the workout I was off too or he had done some fun trip with students.... He was a real member of the MIT family and I (and all of us) will miss him. Hugz and prayers and all the heartfelt thanks I have for the short time he had with us.

I express my condolences to Officer Colliers family and colleages in arms for your loss and your pain in parting from such a remarkably capable, warm and giving person. His passing reminds me of the gift of so many who work to keep us safe and to keep us pushing to the good and rejecting evil.
I have been part if the MIT community for almost 60 years, and often pass places of last weeks horrid events. Being able to write this and see the shrines at the Stata Center are meaningful to me.

I had a dream about Officer Collier. His immortal soul had left this universe and is with Almighty God in other dimensions transcending space, time and physical limitations.
Like a guardian angel Sean now wields a sword made of lightning. Similar to his life on Earth, Sean is continuing the fight for justice and against evil in the service of our Creator.
I pray that the thoughts and memories of Sean's family and loved ones will be of the happiest and best times that they shared with him.

My daughter, an MIT Freshman, was walking across the MIT campus within within several yards of building 32 within minutes of the shooting of Officer Collier. We as parents have counted on him and his fellow MIT officers to keep our child safe, and while the killing of Officer Collier was a cowardly, senseless act, it occurred as he was doing just that. We grieve for his family and am forever grateful to him.
