Sean Collier

Few of us go to work knowing that the risk of death is a possibility. Sean did, and in doing so exhibited the quiet bravery of the men who serve their communities. A tragic loss, and my condolences to the Sean's family. Sean is an example to us all of duty and courage.

During my four years living on campus, I had two close, intense encounters encounters with MIT Police and countless interactions in a relaxed setting. All of them led me to the strong belief that MIT has the best campus police force in the nation. My heart goes out to the entire force and to Officer Collier's family.

My very sincere condolences to Officer Collier's family, friends, and colleagues. May fond memories of him soon replace the terrible pain that you must be feeling on his tragic and untimely loss.

Our sincerest condolences go out to the family, loved ones, and colleagues of Officer Sean Collier. We are not alone in our deep gratitude for his honorable service and sacrifice to the MIT community.

Dear Collier Family, MIT Police, and Friends of Sean Collier,
I want to express my condolences and to tell you how very fortunate we are to have officer like Sean who so bravely protect us. Sean made the ultimate sacrifice to save us from harm and his sacrifice will never be forgotten by the MIT community. We are all deeply effected by this loss. My heart goes out to you in this time of grief and sadness. I know he will long be remembered as a hero here at MIT and beyond.

As a parent of two MIT students, I want to let Sean's family and the MIT Police know how much I appreciate the extra care MIT Police have for all MIT students. While the Cambridge Police Department is awesome, it is the MIT officers who have the opportunity to form tighter bonds with the students, which leads to officers who have the advantage to do their job with a higher level of compassion and insight because they have the opportunity to get to know the students and the campus.Thank you.
