"Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away to the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
That, we still are.

Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect.
Without the trace of a shadow on it.

Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
There is absolute unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?

I am but waiting for you.
For an interval.
Somewhere. Very near.
Just around the corner.

All is well."

We appreciate all you do, we will never forget you.

I work evenings at the MIT Medical center. The campus police often come by to check on us. From the first time Sean came through he spoke to us by name and made brief, friendly conversation.

I will never forget his smile.

The night of April 18 I was at the medical center when the phone rang. I had been getting calls from various news organizations wanting information and advising them of our news office phone number(s). But, one call was from a tearful woman who said she was in Maryland watching news."I have no information to share," I said. She replied that she didn't want news, but rather wanted to let us know that she was praying for us all in Boston, and for the MIT community. Her heartfelt and spontaneous outreach is typical of the way the world has responded to the events in Boston, and to Sean's death.

Sean touched many lives in his own short one. He made the world a better place, and will always be remembered with love.

To the Family of Sean Collier,
I want to express my deepest condolences for your loss. My best friend works at MIT and in the past year I have been down there several times, and it is such a wonderful, beautiful community of people. This young man had his life taken while doing what he loved. His loss is painful because it was so unnecessary, yet, he chose a line of work to love that offered protection to those around him, and in order to make that small corner of the world a safer place. May this young man rest in peace, and know he will never be forgotten for his service and sacrifice.

Also here in Europe we speak about the losings America, Boston and the MIT has gone through and the story of Sean Collier is one of the biggest. He was a helpful, nice officer, who gave his life in his duty. He really cared about the students, otherwise he wouldn't have been in MIT-EMS and and in MITs Police. Such a big lost for MIT, for everyone. Rest In Peace Sean Collier.

When I found out that an MIT campus policeman had given his life in an on-campus shooting, I truly realized for the first time how much the MIT campus policemen care about us. During the events that followed that night and the next day, one of the only things keeping me strong was knowing that everything would be okay because astounding individuals like Sean Collier were making protecting us their top priority. After hearing stories of his kindness and respectability, his overall exceptional character has irradiated through this dark tragedy. Thank you, Officer Collier's family, for raising such an honorable man. His bravery in the stand against terror will never be forgotten. RIP
