Sean Collier

Dear Officer Collier and Family

I have lived near the MIT Campus on and off my entire life. In fact when I was a small boy and my mother was a personal assistant at MIT, I got lost in one of the buildings there. As a man now, I have personally witnessed how MIT has been a good neighbor to Cambridge, Boston and the entire region. I did not know you Officer Collier, but I know you were doing good work. My heart goes out to you and your family.

We offer our deepest gratitude to Officer Sean Collier for his service to the MIT community and for giving his life protecting others from harm. He was a true hero. Our thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family.

The MIT Campus Police have always been a major and essential component of the MIT community. They were always so helpful to the students and loved by the students. Officer Collier was clearly cut from that cloth, and it is a tragic loss that someone who is so helpful and kind be a victim of such random action. My sincere condolences to the Collier family and the MIT community for such a tragic loss.

My deepest condolences to Officer Collier's family and friends. May you find peace during this difficult time, and take comfort in the fact that Sean was a great person who touched many lives. He will always be remembered as a hero.

For the six years I lived in both the East & West sides of the MIT campus, I always felt safe. I'm certain that that had a lot to do with the MIT Campus Police's bravery and hard work. Thank you. I mourn this loss and I honor Sean Collier for the duty he performed and the goodness he showed.

My heart aches for the family and friends of Officer Collier and the MIT community. The MIT campus police department provides a wonderful and valuable service to the MIT community. I am sure Officer Collier will be greatly missed.

The physical distance from the M.I.T. campus may be great for the alumni, but the sense of loss is close and immediate. We mourn the loss of Officer Collier and send our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, fellow police officers and everyone connect with him. We will always remember his sacrifice in service of the M.I.T. community.

The MIT Police are good people. I've never met Officer Collier, but everybody says he was one of the best of them. My heart goes out to his family and friends. He gave the greatest sacrifice for our Institute. Bless him and honor him. R.I.P Officer Collier - we'll never forget you.

The loss of one life is too many. The loss of an innocent young person i a sad tragedy that we all share, particularly a community as specal as the MIT community.
