Sir, it is very humbling that you lost your life protecting students like me. When duty came calling, you went all in -- duty to protect us. And we have a duty to actively engage in making MIT, Boston, and this world, a better place so in a parallel world, you would not have lost your life. Rather you would still be here, hiking with us, sharing with us, and caring like you did right to the end. Rest in peace officer.

Blessings on his family as they mourn his loss. Courage for their journey. Comfort for their tears. These are my prayers.

On behalf of the Becker College Police Department, our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Collier family and the men & women of the MIT Police Department.

Officer Collier was clearly an amazing young man. His commitment to his community, his dedication to his job, and his unselfish sacrifice are an inspiration to us all. We are all saddened at the loss of one of our brothers, yet in this terrible tragedy Officer Collier has brought together literally thousands of people to begin the healing process. To his family please know that each and every one of us in the Law Enforcement field stands ready to assist you however possible in these difficult times. We are honored to have shared the title of Police Officer with such a noble and dedicated young man. The outpouring of support shown here is a testament to the quality of his character.

Rest in peace Officer Collier. Let us take it from here.

My sincere condolences to the family of Officer Collier and the rest of the M.I.T police department and community

This was an extraordinary young man. A brave man with a huge and happy heart. Reading about Sean through my tears has been truly inspirational. I have no doubt that hundreds of people whose lives Sean touched directly, along with thousands who like me have only read about him, will never forget Officer Sean Collier. My thoughts are with his family, his colleagues, his friends and those very lucky members of the MIT community who got to know Sean.

Rest in peace, Sean.

And to his family and the rest of the MIT Campus Police force, may you be granted strength and peace in this difficult time.

I express sincere condolences to Sean Collier's family and to the officers who serve the MIT community. Although I did not have the privilege of knowing Sean, when I was an undergraduate at MIT in the late 60's, the MIT Police Officers not only protected the community and kept us safe, they also helped us in countless ways, were there with a cheerful word or suggestion, and become an integral part of the MIT family. Sean, thank you for serving with honor and bravery; rest in peace.
