May you rest in peace, and may your family and loved ones find peace in life.

Thank you for your service to the MIT community and our country.

Officer Collier, I've never met you, but I know the police force you were a part of stood for the safety of the MIT community, and I somehow just know you were a positive part of it all. It sobers me to know that you were my age when you died in the line of duty. I pray that comfort from God, Father of Jesus Christ, will pour over on your family, and that you rest in peace.

As an alum, I want to say thank you, to you and to the MIT Campus Police in general, for keeping our campus -- and as some others have noted, our second home -- safe, over all these years.

Thank you for putting your lives on the line for our safety, day in and day out. And thank you for continuing your service, even after this tragedy. Those of us who have ever been at MIT have been blessed by your presence.

Officer Collier and others like him make MIT the place it was during my undergraduate years there, and the place it is today. I am so sorry for what happened, and want to thank Officer Collier's and his family for being the people they are. We are indebted to his service and forever grateful. May God bless you and rest in peace, Officer Collier!

To Officer Collier's family, we offer our sincere condolences. As a parent, to his parents, I can barely contemplate your grief and anguish. To all the fine members of the MIT Campus Police, I join with all former & current members of the MIT Community in thanking you for your service and for risking your lives in service to the rest of us.

Officer Collier, Thank you for giving your life for our safety. Your bravery and resoluteness inspire us all. My own uncle died in the line of duty as a sheriff's deputy, so I know the pain, but also, I hope, the deep abiding pride your family feels. My heart goes out to them.

Always loved and appreciated MIT police's support, when I was an undergraduate there.

It is part of the fabric of MIT community and this is such a unfortunate situation.

My sincere condolences.

While the MIT police probably rarely get credit, they keep the campus, the students, the faculty, and visitors safe in an urban environment. They deal with the unexpected and clearly work hard to keep it a safe environment for learning and innovation. We are sad to hear about the loss of Office Collier and thank him and his fellow officers for what they do for the MIT community.

To Officer Collier's friends, family and colleagues:
As a grad student from 2000 who spent alot of time in W32, I often crossed paths w/ MIT police officers. Always friendly, always helpful. From everything I have heard and read, Officer Collier was that and more -- and we are all the lesser without him. I wish I had met him. My deepest sympathies.

I am so sorry about the tragic events of last Thursday that led to Officer Collier's loss of life. He died protecting my community and beyond. In fact, it appears that his death probably prevented other deaths from happening since it set into motion a chain of events that led rapidly to the capture of the suspects. For that and for his dedication to MIT and law enforcement he is a true hero. I will do whatever I can in the future to honor his memory.

In my four years at MIT, I never felt unsafe or unprotected for even a moment thanks to the MIT Police. My thoughts and prayers are with Officer Collier and his family on this truly tragic passing. Thank you so much for your service, it means the world to all of us that are or ever were a part of the MIT community.

I send my condolences and greatest sympathies.

When I was an MIT undergrad long ago, I always felt safe on campus and even off. When I had a bad accident at my fraternity house in Kenmore Square late at night, MIT police were there to take me to the infirmary.

Thank you, Officer Collier. Godspeed.
